For this discussion post, I wrote on “Levels of Message Confirmation” and “Responding Non-defensively to Criticism” from Communication Climate and Confirming Messages (pg 312-313) and Responding Non-defensively to Criticism (pg 332-334) respectively. I agree to what is written in the assigned reading about levels of message confirmation. Throughout growing up, I always used to rely on my parent to tell me whether I am doing good or not. From buying dresses and going out for school excursions, I have always waited for their confirmations. When my mother said “you are looking nice”, “these cookies turned out great”, “that’s a great drawing”, etc. it always made me feel good and happy.
